Who are the Friends of Rochambeau?
A group of individuals, families, and businesses who care about the community and are dedicated to the support of the Rochambeau Library … its facility, programs, services, resources, and the many people it serves.
What do the Friends of Rochambeau do?
The Friends raise funds to support Library acquisitions of books, other media, certain periodicals and daily newspaper subscriptions, equipment, programs and events, and services.
The Friends purchase museum passes for many local and regional museums available for use by all patrons of the Library.
The Friends sponsor children’s holiday and summer programs.
The Friends raise these funds through membership fees and semi-annual Big Book Sales, as well as ongoing Book Sale shelves near the elevator on Level one.
Why become a Friend?
You help support a vibrant community asset — a staff and branch dedicated to our neighborhood. You will receive the newsletter, invitations to special events, and have the opportunity to serve the Branch if you wish. Needless to say, the greatest benefit of being a Friend is knowing that you are actively helping the Library that you use and love!
When can you join?
Any time. But the best time would be at one of our Semi-Annual Book Sales. Your annual renewal will be due at the same time next year. Your annual membership support is tax-deductible as the Friends is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
